After struggling financially and filing for bankruptcy in 2026, Tri City Cycle shut its doors in September. The previous owner, Enoch Amoah, faced difficulties that left the dealership as collateral for personal investments. This unforeseen trouble sparked Welton’s decision to reclaim the business he lovingly refers to as home. “I didn’t want to see it go down that way,” he shares, highlighting the emotional attachment he has for both the business and its long-standing staff.

Around 30 former employees will return, ready to once again serve the community that has supported Tri City Cycle since its inception in 1991. Rachelle Bean, the shop’s events and marketing coordinator, expressed excitement about reconnecting with their loyal customers. “We’ve all been anticipating it,” she says, emphasizing how the reopening speaks to the enduring bonds within the community.
